Hello Liz! Based on Azza Lil’s question if we add “nevertheless, diet awareness are also essential.” Should we still discuss this in the body paragraphs? Or just focus on the main answer that is whether agree or disagree? If yes, could you tell how are we going to include it in the body?
It is cosidered by some that, increasing number of obese people in a society exerts pressure on the healthcare system and it can be tackled by introducing more physical activities in schools.I agree with that ,however,I also think that diet control and lifestyle modification will also help to solve this problem to some extent.
In an AGREE DISAGREE essay model, must you make your statement by saying ‘in my opinion, I completely agree?’
Could there be other phrase options to express this emphatically?
Pls I would like you to see my essay
Having a good university degree guarantees people a good job
To what extant do you agree
Nowadays many people prefer to have a college degree than a high school one . Having a strong collage sirtificate help people to find a better job because it gives a better education and a financial rewards.
Hi Amran !
Thanks for sharing this question as I have had the same problem with theses kind of questions… I believe Liz made it easier for us …
So I believe if you want to say I agree that adv far outweigh dis then in BP1 :
Despite the minimal disadvantages below , I believe there are extremely useful points ( advantages of nuclear technology ) … And also use the language of , (for example) , it is crucial & it is essential …
Then in BP2 : Admittedly , there are some basic drawback of … ( use language of possibility such as might, could … )
So basically from Liz’s replying I have such kind of approach ….
I do not know my understanding is wrong or right ?
Any IELTS essay which asks for your opinion, is only looking for your opinion. You state what your opinion is in the introduction and then explain it in the body. No counter argument is necessary. This applies for the following instructions:
Do you agree or disagree?
To what extent do you agree?
What do you think of this opinion?
I Hope you are doing great!!
Just wanted to ask you. Is agree or disagree essay and argumentative essay same? If it is so, why there is no REFUTATION or the counter argument in your essay. As far as I know, there has to be REFUTATION or COUNTER ARGUMENT for the essay to be argumentative. It is the rule for any argumentative essay. Please correct if I am wrong. Thank you
I appreciate for your time and effort to reply my question. I still have confusion with agree or disagree and argumentative essay. So both are same. That means we can follow same structure for both them. Is that correct?
Teachers call different essays, different names. Some teachers call it the Opinion Essay, some teachers say Argumentative Essay, some teachers say Agree/Disagree Essay – they are all the same – just different names.
You are scored on presenting a relevant position with supporting ideas. It doesn’t matter if you agree / disagree or if you present a specific view (partial agreement). You can choose any of them. It won’t affect your score. Many teachers encourage students to use the one sided view because it is easier and students make less mistakes doing that. However, using a partial view is fine – but make sure your opinion is very clear.
How r u
I need ur help,
Can u please answer if I am right?
Question :some people believe that hobbies need to be difficult to be enjoyable.
To wht extend do u agree or disagree?
Background statement: personally I believe that both type of hobbies can be fun, and I therefore disagree with the statement tht hobbies need to be difficult in order to be enjoyable
Body1:why easy hobby is fun
Body2:why difficult hobby gives pleasure.
Conclusion:in conclusion, simple hobbies can be fun and relaxing, but difficult hobbies can be equally pleasurable for different reasons.
Yes, if you disagree with all aspects of the question, your whole essay explains why you disagree with a clear main point in each body paragraph – you can have either two or three body paragraphs.
I have a question to ask in related to a recent exam question that you have posted. the question is, ‘Countries with longer working days are more economically successful, but there are also some negative consequences. Do you agree?’
In this essay I feel like there are three independent areas that I need to connect each other. How longer working hours develop country economy and how longer working days bring social issues.
Is this correct? Or my entire essay should be on longer working days and social issues?
I think that longer working days develop economy is a fact (according to this question) and we don’t need to describe a given fact. Just mention it only in introduction?
dear Liz i have a question i always was writing my essays like this for a disagree and agree essay. In the introduction i always try to do a balance in my opnion like this:
