You just need to understand what motivates you in life so that you can channel your energy through the right platform and achieve greater success in life.
Researchers Adam Grant of The Wharton School of the University of Pennsylvania and Jane Dutton of The Ross School of Business at the University of Michigan wanted to understand how reflection, in the form of expressive writing, might influence prosocial behavior. They observed that when we reflect on what we’ve received from another person, we might feel an obligation to help that person, but the motivation to help doesn’t necessarily extend to other people. And reflecting on what we’ve received from others may even cause us to feel dependent and indebted.
Motivation can be negative by not receiving something, and contrary to popular belief it is not always money that motivates people to do what they do....
This is due, to the part of what motivates employees which changes constantly (Bowen& Radhakrishna, 1991).Each individual is motivated to gain a job promotion using three theories of motivation....
The study of motivation helps managers understand what prompts people to initiate action, what influences their choice of action, and why they persist in their action over time (Daft and Marcic 444)....
People, however, cannot be motivated to change from the outside All
of our motivation comes from within.

Assignment: What motivates people to change?
People with motivation have a clear sight and understanding of what they want and will don’t everything in their power to achieve it because of their fixed desire, confidence, and faith in the ability....
In general, I never like to be told that I can’t do something and I will do whatever it takes to prove that I can. In my opinion, whether this situation is motivational or simply degrading to one’s feelings is based on the person’s personality. People that have strong will and determination are more likely to succeed when told no or to prove people wrong. On the other hand, if people with lower self esteem are told no they may really consider what they have been told and abide by it, thinking that they are not good enough. I believe that everyone should try their best to succeed at whatever they want to do in life no matter what people tell them to bring them down. When I entered high school I had never played lacrosse in my life and everyone told me I couldn’t just start now because i didn’t know how to play. I proved everyone wrong by playing varsity and being the top scorer on the junior varsity team.
•Briefly define and explain the hypocrisy paradigm. How does the dissonance in hypocrisy differ from the dissonance in the induced compliance paradigm? Why do the researchers predict that hypocrisy motivates people to change their behavior rather than their attitudes?
I have had many instances that have spurred me to excel. One of them is when someone told me that I should run for class treasurer. I viewed this suggestion as an insult. The way I saw it, this person didn’t think I could be president. So, I proved him wrong. I ran for President and I won. Another instance was, on my first math quiz of the year I received a 75% while the class average was a 95%. I knew that I could do so much better, so I stayed after school and studied. On the next test I received a 95% while the class average was a 75%. I believe that people who excel after being told “no” are very self-motivated people who won’t settle for less than what they know they can give.
•Design an induction of hypocrisy to motivate people to use sunscreen more often when they spend time in the sun. Describe who the target individuals would be and then explain how you would get them to make a public commitment to the use of sunscreen and how you would make them mindful of past failures to use sunscreen. Finally, explain how you would measure their motivation to reduce dissonance by changing their behavior.
One instance that I can remember that being told no made me pursue even harder to accomplish a goal was last year. My teachers going into freshman year told me I was not good enough and I could not do the honors level classes. Being told “No” in such a manner as this, drove me to get better test grades than ever before. My test taking skill increased to a point where I was put in honors English, Latin, and Geometry. I believe that confidence and a strong will to be better than what you used to be drives motivation for people like me. “Survival Instinct” plays a major role in trying to find a positive motivation in someone else’s discouragement because that is what drives motivation to succeed better than ever before.
