In addition, I realized that a medical profession is the best career I could dream of, so comfortably I felt in these surroundings.XXX Hospital was not my first experience in volunteering activities.
Her refusal to give up on me said more than I could ever put into words. It would have been easy for her to just let me leave. But Sue was never a person to take the easy way out, and she showed me how to do the same. I worked harder in Sue's barn that year than I'd ever worked before, earning every minute of my riding time, and I'd never felt more proud of myself. In her own stubborn way, Sue had shared with me an invaluable lesson in perseverance. She may not be much of a role model in any other respect, but Susan Lewis does not give up, and I strive every day to live by her example.
Structure (poetry) - The pattern of organization of a poem. For example, a Shakespearean sonnet is a 14-line poem written in iambic pentameter. Because the sonnet is strictly constrained, it is considered a closed or fixed form. An open or free form poem has looser form, or perhaps one of the author’s invention, but it is important to remember that these poems are not necessarily formless.
By focusing on Susan Lewis, someone who in many ways isn't even likable, the essay isn't typical, and it shows that the author can recognize the positive in a person who has a lot of negatives going for her. The college admission reader will be impressed that the author has shown she is a creative and open-minded thinker. The essay fully explains the influence Susan Lewis has on the author, leading her to appreciate hard work and perseverance. This was an important step into adulthood for the author.

I have a very unique outlook on health. I think of "health" as being the simple absence of disease in the body. The health of the person includes the harmony and the balance between the mind, body, and soul of a person. Thus, I believe that all patients should be told good and nice things about their health and this would enable them to feel good about themselves and feel better and cured. For example, a person would feel more healthy if he/she believes him/herself to be healthy. If the person is told by the other person, say a doctor or a nurse, that he/she is unhealthy, than the person might begin to feel unhealthy as well. It is only if the patient thinks that he/she is healthy can he/she really become healthy. I believe that the ability of experiencing one's real self would pave the way for the person to find the balance and harmony within the mind, body, and spirit/soul, and this would facilitate a higher amount of health present in the person. This is my philosophy, and one that I hope to practice when I am a professional nurse.

The majority of essays written about influential people focus on role models: "my Mom/Dad/brother/friend/teacher/neighbor/coach taught me to be a better person through his or her great example..." Such essays are often excellent, but they are also a bit predictable. Keep in mind that a person can have a significant influence without having an entirely "positive" influence. , for example, focuses on a woman with only a few positive qualities. You could even write about someone who is abusive or hateful. Evil can have as much "influence" on us as good.
Be sure to read on an influential person. Max writes about a rather unremarkable junior high kid he encountered while teaching summer camp. The essay succeeds in part because the choice of subject matter is unusual and obscure. Among a million application essays, Max's will be the only one to focus on this young boy. Also, the boy isn't even a role model. Instead, he's an ordinary kid who inadvertently makes Max challenge his preconceptions.
The most admirable thing about the writing here is that Jill's personality comes through. We get a sense of her humor, her power of observation, and her generosity of spirit. A lot of applicants feel like they need to brag about their accomplishments in the essay, yet Jill shows how those accomplishments can be conveyed in a pleasingly understated way.
